Health and Beauty Tips from Our Winners: 

AMARA: “Enjoying the outdoors in Florida is great, but often calls for a chemical-free ‘Bug-Away’ spray. I use Young Living essential oils because they are very pure and undiluted, but you can experiment with what you like best.”

  • 12 oz witch hazel or vodka (or 6 oz alcohol w/ 6 oz Watt-Ahh!)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 15 drops citronella oil
  • 15 drops lemongrass oil
  • 10 drops peppermint oil
  • 10 drops tea tree oil

Shake well and reapply as needed.

Other essential oils that keep bugs away include lavender, geranium, basil, rosemary, eucalyptus, clove, cinnamon and cajeput- so experiment and have fun! (Many of these serve as an after-bite treatment, too!)
