Water Purification Can Avoid Quality Issues

Bottled waterCross contamination is always a quality control challenge for consumable products as well as municipal water supplies. The lead indicator of cross contamination is the presence of E. coli bacteria. A recent recall of bottled spring water produced by two bottling plants located in Pennsylvania has generated, at the very least, a regional discussion with many points of view expressed. One person commented it is strange to think about boiling bottled water for an hour (like that advised by municipalities) when there is a quality issue in the public drinking water supply. According to the company’s statement, the recall does not pertain to any purified water produced by these bottling plants.
