Six-Year Anniversary for the Gabriel Center Featuring Keynote Speaker Dr. John Monhollon, M.D.
Last week, Dr. John Monhollon of the Florida Integrative Medical Center gave a brief introduction before a group of about 30 individuals at the Gabriel Center, and then opened up the floor to the audience for a Q & A session in order to answer the health-related questions they had previously written on cards. Each question was read aloud by Rebecca Gabriel. Dr. Monhollon gave rapid-fire, witty answers that made the audience laugh and feel at ease before delving into a scientific answer … or at least options to consider. He kindly shared his belief that each one of us should take responsibility in our diet and lifestyle choices, and to try to learn about the health symptoms of our own bodies (cause and effect) before deciding whether or not to make an appointment with a physician.
One of the participants inquired about insulin and chemotherapy (AKA “Insulin Potentiation Therapy” or low-dose chemotherapy, according to the American Cancer Society). Dr. Monhollon gave a brief introduction on a potentially more complementary treatment for certain types of cancer in which insulin is first used to affect the blood sugar level. He informed us that cancer cells have sugar receptors, and once the correct blood sugar level is achieved (in which the receptors on the cancer cells are – in theory – more open), one tenth of the usual dosage of chemotherapy is used on the patient.
It was a good evening with good friends and again, thank you, Rebecca and Jim Gabriel, for hosting a thought-provoking and informative evening at your clinic.
