Simone is a 3-month-old Border Collie mix my husband and I adopted from the Tampa SPCA last month. In a short time, she’s already become famous, and has been featured in healthy aging newsletters and videos.

She was the runt of the litter, and came home with kennel cough, a very contagious respiratory infection that had to be treated with antibiotics. While common among rescues, it can quickly turn into pneumonia if untreated, and all toys, bedding and the overall surrounding must be disinfected after recovery to ensure a dog won’t get sick again. Simone was given antibiotics and served fresh Watt-Ahh daily and quickly began her return to health.

Did you know that there are health benefits to being around dogs? Dog caretakers reportedly have lower cholesterol and blood pressure, are more active and have less stress. Dogs also make us more social, support stronger relationships among couples, and remind us the importance of play! Simone is doing a great job of teaching us these valuable lessons, and is a proud new addition to our “Be the Ahh! Pet” family!
