Sarasota Grand Prix Offshore Boat Racing, July 3-July 5, 2015

tobay.115There is a new race organization, OPGP, that will assist the Suncoast Charities for Children on the 31st Annual Racing off of Lido Beach, Sarasota, FL. The race fans at the Thunder-by-the-Bay motorcycle festival in January 2015 loved hearing that there will be three days of qualifying racing and finals instead of only one day. AquaNew’s Dana and Rob Gourley volunteered to hand out “Save the Date” flyers and received great feedback from the fans. tobay.115nickyedith

One of the great surprises is that OPGP has entered into a contract with Torque.TV and CBS Sports Network, to coverall of the racing action during the 2015 Season, including the crown jewel of offshore racing in Sarasota.

“Offshore Powerboat racing is one of the most exciting and technically challenging forms of motorsport today,” said Roger Werner, Chairman and Founder of Torque.TV. “These incredible boats are capable of speeds over 200 miles per hour on open water. With helicopters, drones and a significant number of on-boat cameras, we expect that this series—and the state-of-the-art production qualities that come with it—will rekindle America’s fascination with this exciting sport.

Spectre CatTeam REDS/Watt-Ahh® is ready to fire up the dual engines on their 36’ Spectre Super Boat to compete and delight the race fans of their home town Sarasota this coming July.
