Military Shout-Out

Sarasota, FL, June 27, 2011

A local team of motley gearheads will race in a 29-foot Scarab boat during the Super Boat Grand Prix Festival this coming weekend.  This boat is commonly known on the race circuit as the “National Guard” boat.   A radio shout-out from a live microphone outside the National Guard/Watt-Ahh® tent at the pits will be available for the people stopping by to send their messages to our soldiers overseas.  Nationally syndicated radio celebrity, Matt Bruce of the Captains America Show, will be hosting the radio shout-out on Saturday, July 2nd between hours of noon and 3 p.m. located at the Centennial Park located on 10th Street, Sarasota waterfront.

Come on down to meet this local team including Driver Scott Brown and Throttleman Eddie Tambarino of J&S Motorsports, who won the World Championship for Production Class 3 last year.  “Our troops and veterans motivate us to do our best in on race day and we look forward to a great festival in Sarasota this year,” said Brown.

Gearhead Rob Gourley said this local winning team attributes a lot of its success to other supporting local businesses that make it a priority to find last-minute parts for the boat.  Gourley specifically expressed appreciation for Yow’s Automotive Machine Shop, Silliman Fluid Power, Innovation Marine, Leading Edge Propeller, Alro Metals and Fastenal.
