Pet Intuition — Be the Ahh! Pets Discovery for May 2025

March 25, 2025 – Rob and I have a friend who is a judge and he presides over criminal cases. His dog faithfully goes to work with him and stays hidden laying by his feet under the judge’s bench. The dog usually naps during the trials except when she detects a “bad guy” has entered the courtroom. The dog will wake up and gently growl to let the judge know. The dog is likely using her intuition from past experiences with smells and voices from multiple court cases. The judge swears she has a 100% accurate record on early signaling to him about those who are eventually found guilty that lead to their conviction.

Animals certainly have instincts which are innate behaviors for survival such as birds building nests in the Spring. Intuition is a different field of study on animals which is not well understood in science. Do you have a pet who has learned what you are feeling? Or has warned you about an incoming storm?  Over our lifetimes, humans seem to have less confidence in their own intuitive abilities (or gut feelings) to make thoughtful snap decisions on what is best to do. Animals may not question their intuitions and will take unwavering action.

We have witnessed many times pet intuition on discovering what is good and healthy for them. At pet fairs and other outdoor exhibitions, we watch dogs yanking on their leashes to get to a bowl filled with Watt-Ahh and make loud lapping sounds when drinking down the water. We also like to challenge pet owners to place next to their pet’s water bowl, another bowl filled with Watt-Ahh and watch which one their pet chooses. We think it is a great test of the pet’s intuition of knowing what is good for them.
