The Ultra Pavement Divas Take First Place!

cd6c3d37-2948-4200-b1dd-681db6d18066Congratulations to the Ultra Pavement Divas for finishing the 2015 Ragnar Relay in record time – 33 hours and 51 minutes, garnering them a first place win in their division! They ran in relay from Miami to Key West, simultaneously, with a total of 471 other teams competing in different divisions. Our goal was to keep the team hydrated with Ultra-Pure Watt-Ahh®, and in that, we were a success. The all-woman team included Holly Briggs, Gina Ferlise, Carolyn Stiff, Roxy Pech, Sondra Jarvis and Team Captain Jenna O’Horan, who ran in support of Special Olympics Florida.

The “Divas” are a unique team since there are only six women runners instead of twelve (female and male) members in a typical team. During the long relay, four members had to take on extra running time due to injury (we hope minor) of their other team members. “Nothing too crazy happened” said Team Captain Jenna. “We learned to stretch and foam roll whenever we got the chance – like in parking lots. We learned to appreciate regular bathrooms when we could find them because otherwise, there were a lot of Porta-potties to use. And, we all learned how to maneuver a 15-person van with skill.”

Way to go ladies! Read more about the team HERE. And, make sure to check out the team photos on FACEBOOK.
