Bottled Water Industry Donates to Those Hit Hardest By the California Drought

tank.1114Last week, more than 100,000 bottles (15,000 gallons) of bottled water were delivered to families of East Porterville and the surrounding Tulare County, thanks to the efforts of the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA). Most homes in Porterville have not had running water for almost two years as a result of California’s ongoing and devastating drought.

To give you an idea as to the magnitude of this donation, it is equivalent to two and half times AquaNew’s current monthly production of Polarized Water. In the photo to the left, you can see AquaNew CEO Rob Gourley next to a 4,000-gallon tank.

“The bottled water industry wants to be part of the solution to California’s drought,” said IBWA Vice President of Communications Chris Hogan. “We realize this effort provides only short-term relief and we know we can’t provide relief for every California community. However, we believe it’s important to engage and support where and when we can.”
